I just have to say, I'm such a lucky person. I get to go to weddings all the time and witness beautiful ceremonies where two people, madly in love, vow to care for one another for the rest of their lives! It really is such an amazing and heart-warming commitment. You'd think after seeing countless people get married I might be a little jaded by the whole thing, but I'm definitely not! I hope to witness many, many more weddings in my years to come. Personalized vows are always my favorite part because they give a deeper insight into the couple's relationship and their deep devotion to each other. Erin and Edgar's vows were SO sweet! They were thoughtful, funny and altogether beautifully said. I actually had tears in my eyes as I tried to see through my viewfinder to capture the precious moments. The whole day was really fabulous! From the venue, to the wedding party to the food and the epic dance party at the end of the night...it was such a pleasure to photograph this wedding! Which again, is why I'm so lucky. I get to work with great couples, see beautiful venues, witness constant smiles and laughter and go to a party nearly every weekend! I feel extremely blessed. Thank you Erin and Edgar for asking me to photograph your wedding day and entrusting me with these very special memories. It's all because of people like you that I can make this dream job a reality!

From top to bottom, this wedding was a dream! It was just bursting at the seams with creativity and pretty things and I had a heck of a time narrowing down all the photos I wanted to show on this post! First of all, Hope was a stunning bride. No doubt about that. Her gorgeous beaded lace dress, flower crown and back necklace were all so beautiful on her! Jake, her handsome husband, rocked a tweed vest with a blush bow tie and of course some quirky socks (picked out by the bride herself). I loved all the details from this day as well. Hope, a graphic designer on the side, designed all the signs and created a custom logo for the couple, which was printed on the menu, water bottles, and of course the bottles of beer the couple brewed themselves! Talk about DIY! From their doggy ring bearer, to the awesome food truck service to the amazing coordination by Nicole Audrey Events, I was just having the time of my life photographing this wedding. It was such a smooth, laid back event, which is so rare for weddings these days. And can I just say, the light at golden hour was perfect shining through the vineyards at Retzlaff Winery. These two posed like models and I could have just kept shooting till it was completely dark! Oh I could write a whole essay about this wedding, but from here I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story. Enjoy!

It was a gorgeous September day. The sky was clear, sunny and Lauren & Jared were more than ready to say their "I do's" after 10 years of dating! I love how chill Lauren was when I showed up at the Hyatt Regency. Whenever the bride is relaxed, that always puts me at ease! She looked radiant as the final touches were put on her hair and makeup and I was so excited that her big day had finally arrived! Instead of doing a first look with Jared, she opted for a special first look with her father...sooo sweet! Next Lauren decided on a "first touch" with her groom just before the ceremony. With tears in her eyes, they locked hands for a few brief moments and then got ready for the walk down the aisle. Very precious moment indeed! Their ceremony was short and sweet and then came the party. Lots of laughter, dancing and even a few tears shed. It was great night with great company! I wish all the best to Lauren and Jared with their new marriage!

What. A. Day! So much beauty, so much joy and so much love and laughter throughout! Coli was a radiant bride and glowed the entire day. She wore a beautiful lace dress (and I LOVE lace), adorable ballet flats and a family heirloom watch as her bracelet. As a Stanford alumna, all the action for the day happened right there on campus. Stanford really does have some great nooks and crannies for gorgeous photos! Coli had the brilliant idea to have her first look with Ryan in what she referred to as the bamboo forest. In reality, it was just a walkway in between two chemistry buildings, but the fresh, towering bamboo growing there made all the difference! We got some great portraits of the two of them there and then jumped on their private Mexican Party Bus and headed to the church! Stanford Memorial Church is jaw-dropping and I was thrilled I got to shoot there. After the ceremony, Coli's sister had arranged a surprise performance from the Stanford marching band and man, was it lively! Coli and Ryan were beyond surprised and had a blast marching along and dancing to the music. It was quite a treat, but the fun didn't stop there! Next we were headed out to Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club for the reception, where everything was beautifully set-up by Asiel Designs. The night continued on with toasts, cake and lots of dancing...including another surprise performance, this time from the groomsmen! It was quite the day, filled with so many great moments and I'm honored I got to capture those timeless memories for Coli and Ryan!

Two brides. Two grooms. One day! What a unique experience it was for me to be a part of this wedding! Hearing that there were going to be two couples getting married at the same ceremony definitely perked my ears up when I first heard from Chuy. I had never shot anything like it before, but I was up for the challenge and I'm so glad I said yes! Rosario, Jose, Chuy and Lupe were ALL such wonderful people to work with and their wedding was just so much fun! Rosy and Lupe, two very creative sisters, put a special touch on every part of this wedding. Details, details, details! From the floral ladders, to the handmade signs, to the personalized Instagram photo booth...there was so much to capture! The ceremony was held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the giant fiesta continued on at De Luna Ranch up in Brentwood, CA. The venue hosted two live bands, including an all women mariachi band who sounded amazing! The next band kept the party going strong with lots of enthusiasm and crowd participation. Once I was done shooting I was tempted to stay and party myself! :-P I thoroughly enjoyed myself and am so happy they chose me to photograph such a lovely day. Getting to capture the love of not just one couple, but two was such a treat. Congratulations to you both!!

If you were like me, you grew up watching all the Disney classics...Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White...the list goes on! As a little girl, you probably dreamed of the day your "Prince Charming" would come and you'd have the rest of your lives to live happily ever after. I can imagine Lauren was this very girl who fantasized about her beautiful wedding day and dressing up just like those beloved princesses in the movies. Fast forward years later to the day that dream became a reality! She wore a gorgeous princess ball gown, iridescent heels that shined like glass slippers, and her mother's wedding pearls. Needless to say she looked radiant! The ceremony was held in Portola Valley at the beautiful Valley Presbyterian Church, with a giant window at the alter that looked out into all towering Redwood trees surrounding the sanctuary. After the ceremony we got some great shots with those Redwoods as our lovely backdrop and headed off to the reception at the Sheraton in Palo Alto. Each table had a different Disney themed centerpiece, each handmade by the bride herself! It all came together so nicely and was a wonderful beginning of a new chapter of Lauren and Alex's fairytale love story!
Somehow I am lucky enough to always get paired up with such great couples! Tariq and Annalise were a pleasure to be around and such a fun-loving couple. Not to mention they have their model poses down pat! They're just a stunning pair, no doubt about that. I was thrilled I got to shoot at the swanky Sofitel Hotel just south of San Francisco. The classy feel of the hotel worked perfectly with the bridesmaids' long flowing dresses and the groomsmen's dark, sleek suits. Seriously, everyone just looked so good I felt like I was shooting a magazine spread! It was a change from my typical wedding party photos, as I usually opt for the natural, outdoor portraits, but I'm so glad I decided to shoot instead in the fancy lobby. Sheer curtains, tufted furniture, leading lines and not to mention great window light; how could I pass it up? The ceremony and reception were held at Holbrook Palmer Park and had some more amazing spots to shoot. After the short and sweet ceremony and a great session of photos with just Annalise and Tariq, it was time to party! There was lots of dancing, laughter and cherished family time. It was a wonderful day and as always, I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture these memories for such a loving couple!
It was literally an honor to shoot Robin and Matt's wedding this past November in San Francisco! The details, the venue, the wedding party, the atmosphere and of course the bride and groom were all wonderful! I admit, I was a bit stressed going into the day because I wanted to keep everything on time since the sun was setting early, but once I showed up and saw Robin relaxed and ready to party, I was instantly put at ease. The house the bridesmaids got ready in was adorable and had great natural lighting (a huge plus for getting ready shots)! It also worked well for our impromptu "first look," which helped save us time for all the formal shots. :-) The timing with the sun couldn't have been more perfect once we got to the Legion of Honor. I was in love with how the sunlight hit everyone just right...dramatic shadows, rim light and a golden glow! I seriously could have kept on shooting, but it was windy and cold and most everyone was ready to be inside already, except me! I was full of adrenaline the whole night. The ceremony was short and sweet, the reception was full of life and Robin and Matt couldn't have been more in love that day. I had a blast and am so excited to share these photos with you all!

What a pleasure it was to share in Steven and Christine's wedding day! Christine was one of the sweetest brides; so full of laughter and smiles all day long. I got quite a palette of venues for the day from the St Felicitas Catholic Church in San Leandro to the gorgeous greenery at the Hayward Japanese Gardens and finishing the night off at the Fremont Marriott. Even with all the traveling, everyone stayed full of energy, especially when it came to rallying for their favorite baseball team, the San Francisco Giants. The couple had custom Giants jersey's made (flashing Christine's new last name)not to mention their jersey-shaped Giants cake and personalized ballpark tickets which ushered the guests to their table assignment. There were so many cute touches sprinkled throughout and I thought their wedding was perfectly them. Big thank you to my awesome assistant Jennifer Mihalyi and best wishes to the happy couple!
Who knew such a beautiful spot was tucked away in the middle of Fremont? I was pleasantly surprised to shoot Naomi and Nelson's wedding at the Palmdale Estates on a gorgeous day in July! There was no hiding their love and excitement for the day to have finally arrived. They were both full of smiles the entire day and it shows in their pictures for sure. Complete with a horse and carriage, a beautiful coral color palette and vibrant flower arrangements, no detail was left untouched at this fairytale wedding. Naomi's parents added a sentimental touch as well, singing the newly weds a favorite love song from her childhood. I was honored to capture their special moments and experience exploring a new venue; one of my favorite things to do! Best wishes to you both!
June wedding bliss! Ok, so I know it's already July and soon it will be August, but I've been busy and admittedly have gotten a little backed up on blogging. But late or not, I thought this beautiful wedding at Saratoga Springs was worth sharing! Janeen and Frank put together a lovely wedding tucked away in the Santa Cruz Mountains and held their ceremony under a gorgeous canopy of trees. Frank surprised his wife-to-be at the alter with an original song that he sang live with the accompaniment of an acoustic guitar. It was so sweet and touching! This was my first time shooting at this venue and I really enjoyed it. I hope to be back sometime soon! Thank you to Jody Atkinson for assisting with me and creating some awesome images as well. Blessings to Janeen and Frank! I hope to work with you guys in the future. ;-)
This 2014 summer has been filled with so many beautiful weddings and I feel honored I've been able to capture so many amazing moments and details. Rebecca and Mitchell had a lovely June wedding at the famous Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton, CA. Being that I've known Rebecca and her family since I was literally a baby, I was flattered that she wanted me to shoot her special day! She put so much effort into pulling off this completely DIY wedding and in my opinion, it looked fantastic! She handmade her gorgeous brooch bouquet, even making some of the fabric flowers that complemented the jewels so well. All the flower arrangements she put together with help from family and friends, which all turned out beautiful as well! The menu she designed herself and various signs that were placed around the property. She even wrote her husband an original song and recorded it so they could dance to it at their first dance. It was a complete surprise to him and utterly romantic. Congratulations to Rebecca and Mitchell and hats off to Rebecca for her hard work! Also, huge thanks to Danielle Gillett Photography who helped assist on this wedding. She's amazing!
My first wedding of the season couldn't have been with a more lovely couple. Kira and Steven have been such wonderful clients from the moment I met them and I had been anticipating their wedding for months. Not only are they stunning in front of the camera, but the Guglielmo Winery venue was beautiful as well. It was my first time shooting there, which is always fun because I love challenging myself and working with new scenery. In addition, I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer Mihalyi as my assistant photographer and she did such a great job! She captured some amazing detail shots of all the adorable decor they had spread out on the tables and the beautiful ceremony set up with candles, flowers, barrels and vintage shutters. It all came together so nicely and I had a lovely time capturing it all. Hope y'all enjoy the pictures!
It finally arrived! My big sister's wedding day! It was gorgeous and everything came together so well. There were many last minute details, but it all turned out beautifully! She and Marcus were married at Green Gables Wedding Estate in San Marcos, CA and it was such a cool venue. The bridal suite was lovely, the ceremony area was darling and the reception area was huge. It was such a perfect setting for a wedding and my stunning sister fit right in! Her peach and white details were so elegant and her wedding dress fit her to a tee. She was definitely a picturesque, blushing bride.
I've been waiting for this day for a long time and I just felt so elated to have been a part of it. I did my part as a maid of honor to tend to all Michelle's needs, but I'm not gonna lie, it was hard to juggle it all. Not that I was stressed, but the wedding photographer in me wanted to take pictures of EVERYTHING, but it just wasn't possible. I did as much as I could, but my main focus was Michelle and taking care of her to make sure she had an amazing day! My biggest regret was not getting more photos of her and her new husband. I eventually had to relinquish my desire to shoot every picture possible and let the official wedding photographers do their job. That's what they were there for anyway, right?! With the help my fiancè, Nick, we were actually able to practice our skills at recording video with my Canon 5d Mark II. I don't claim to be a videographer, but it sure was fun capturing a different side of things. Now we will all have the memories to cherish in video form! I could ramble on and on about the wedding day and how amazing my sister is and this and that.... but I'm sure you'd like to see the photos that I WAS able to take! Here's one of the very rare times I actually show up in a couple photos (thanks to some willing friends who manned my camera for a few shots). See if you can spot me ;-)
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Blackshire!!
It was a lovely day, with lovely people, and it made for a lovely wedding! Laina and Isaac's wedding was a treat to be a part of. They were married at Gateway Bible Church in Scotts Valley and we had the opportunity beforehand to take pictures over at Mount Hermon, which served as a lovely green backdrop against the bold red and black colors of the bridal party. The couple obviously had nothing but true love for each other. Laina spoke some of the THEE most beautiful and heart-warming vows I've ever heard. It actually made me tear up mid ceremony! Their act of devotion to each other and God by washing each other's feet was also so very touching. It was a great group of people to spend the day with as well. A nice touch was riding in on a firetruck for the grand entrance, courtesy of the Ben Lomond Fire Station, which was perfect since Isaac is a fire fighter! Made for another fun prop for pictures :-) Just want to say a big thank you to the couple and all their friends and family for making me feel welcome and working so smoothly with me throughout the big day!
I have nothing but good things to say about this lovely couple, Dawn and Matt. From the start, they were so kind and warm which made it a pleasure for me to work with them. They were married at Stern Grove surrounded by beautiful Redwood trees right in the heart of San Francisco! I never knew about this venue, but it was lovely and quaint and just the right place for Dawn and Matt to say their vows. They were surrounded by so many close friends and family and it was such a great celebration! One of my favorite parts of the night was when Dawn, having a background in hula dancing, did a special hula dance for her new husband as a symbol of her love. It was precious and had eyes tearing up around the room! So much thought was put into this wedding and I was glad to have been a part of it to photograph their love story. Enjoy the photos below!
