Puyallup River Family Photo Shoot on the Sumner Link Trail

Family of three standing together by the Puyallup River

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Kekoa and Anyssa's 11th anniversary celebration. We met by the Puyallup River near Sumner on a beautiful June evening and everything came together perfectly! I was surprised we were even able to meet on their exact anniversary. What a fun and unique way to celebrate, right?

I first met Kekoa, Anyssa, and their son a couple years ago when I had the privilege of photographing their family. So when Anyssa reached out to me about updating their family photos, I was thrilled. She had even saved my number to her phone so she wouldn’t forget me— what a gem!

We found a quiet spot by the Puyallup River just off the Sumner Link trail. During our shoot, the love and connection between Kekoa and Anyssa was so evident. They danced together, held hands, and shared sweet moments that spoke volumes about their love  as a couple. Their son, full of energy and curiosity, skipped rocks along the shore and brought a sense of childlike wonder to the session. The laughter and joy that filled the air made my job feel effortless as we enjoyed the beautiful riverside.

As the sun set over the river and our shoot came to an end, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to document such a special occasion for Kekoa and Anyssa. The genuine laughs, playful moments, and the love shared between them made it a stress-free and enjoyable experience for all of us. It's moments like these that remind me why I love what I do and why capturing family connections through lifestyle photography is so meaningful.

I felt a sense of joy and fulfillment that comes from knowing I had helped create something special for this lovely family. And I knew that these photos would serve as a reminder of the love, laughter, and sense of “Ohana” (as Anyssa so beautifully puts it) for many more anniversaries to come!
