If you're a family looking for jaw-dropping backdrops, a couple dreaming of the perfect wedding day setting, or just someone who wants to make memories that actually look as good as they felt — Mount Rainier National Park in Washington state is calling your name.
The mountain is massive and magical, and the landscape around it has something for everyone: wildflower meadows, waterfalls and reflective lakes. But let's say you aren't up for the drive to the national park and want something more local to Pierce or King County, there are still options for a laid-back family photo session that still catch that view in the background.
If you've been looking for the best spot in the Puyallup area for a spring photo shoot, I am so excited to announce that I'm hosting spring mini sessions at Van Lierop Park May 2026. With a family shoot, you have much more flexibility in deciding on an indoor vs. and outdoor session. Your decision is simply based on your personal preferences! Most often families opt for a studio setting when weather is going to be unpredictable. Once November hits in the Tacoma area, we are way more likely to have a shoot get rained out or the temperatures are simply too cold for families, especially those with young kids or perhaps grandparents.
