Katie and Ben's Country Style Engagement

I am so excited to share this engagement session with everyone!  As you could probably tell from my lack of blog posts, I've been on a bit of a hiatus with shoots.  But I'm back at it and ready for another wonderful year of love and laughter!  I couldn't have asked for a better way to start off the new year than with Katie and Ben.  Katie had the brilliant idea to do the shoot at her parents' property.  You couldn't tell from the pictures that this darling ranch is just tucked away right off the road in the foothills of east San Jose.  It's a gorgeous piece of land, complete with a barn, tractors, chickens and even donkeys!  A country girl at heart, Katie grew up raising and riding horses so it was only natural for them to incorporate that ranch feel into the engagement session.  Ben brought out his banjo too for the ultimate folk feel!  My favorite part of the shoot though was when we trekked down to the yellow mustard field and literally put a leather chair from the living room out in the flowers.  It made for some fun photos!  The ultimate cherry on top was having my husband shoot along side me.  He's still a photographer in training, but he's got the eye and shot some great photos.  Detail shots below compliment of Nick :-)   Thank you to Katie and Ben for such a great time!
