Chloe's 2015 Senior Portraits in Santa Cruz
Have camera, will travel. As most people know, my main gig is shooting weddings and engagements, but I love variety and I jump on any opportunity to shoot portraits. That's why I was so flattered that my dear friend Pam asked me to take her daughter's high school senior portraits! Trying to avoid the stiff in-studio photos, Chloe wanted something more suited to her style for her senior pictures. She wanted a beach backdrop mixed with some more fun, urban elements so naturally we met up in Santa Cruz and had a little adventure of our own!We originally wanted to shoot at the Boardwalk, but with the shoot coinciding with spring break and awesome weather, the beach was of course packed! I made a quick decision to shoot further down the coast at Seabright State Beach, which was far less crowded and had some great spots to shoot. Chloe started out shy and timid, but little did she know she lit up the camera from the first shot. She's a young beauty with a great smile and a sweet heart. We shot half the session at the beach and then wanting to get more colorful and textured backdrops, we jumped in the car and just drove till we saw a fun spot! Luckily we had her mom Pam to chauffeur us around town, which made it super convenient. We saw a mural and starting shooting...we saw a bridge and jumped out....we saw the Boardwalk, and yes, we pulled over and got some of those pictures after all! It was a great shoot and I really enjoyed myself, as I hope Chloe did too. She's a smart girl with a good sense of humor and I know she's got a great future ahead of her after high school! Happy graduation to the class of 2015!
