Discovery Park Couple's Maternity Session in Seattle

What a magical session! I had the opportunity to photograph Olivia and Sean’s first maternity session over at Discovery Park in Seattle and it was dreamier than I could have asked for! Despite what looks like a gorgeous day, it actually was pretty chilly. I’d say the wind played a big role in that, BUT it also did wonders for making her dress flutter in the wind. As you may know, I’m a huge fan of flowy dresses! Olivia was such a good sport in the cold breeze. I eventually broke out the blanket for them to snuggle in, but soon found myself asking for just one more catwalk in the wind before we called it a night! It was so fun capturing those last moments in the golden light. I had a wonderful time with them catching these last moments of this family of two in the anticipation of their baby girl.

Location

I really enjoyed shooting in the wildflowers over at Discovery Park. I don’t get up to Seattle enough to enjoy all the amenities and pretty locations, but when I do, this spot is definitely one of my favorites! I actually love it so much, when Redfin reached out to me about best locations for photography around Seattle, hands down I said Discovery Park! I think from the photos below you’ll see why it’s such a beautiful spot for a session!

Styling of this Session

If you love this dress as much as I do, you’ll be happy to know it’s available in my client closet! It’s a gorgeous rust red gown from Baltic Born, one of my favorite places for dresses! Even though we used it as a maternity dress, it’s totally versatile and can be worn for your next family or newborn session as well! Sean wore a long-sleeved Henley shirt, which honestly is perfect for any guy in a session. They are easy, comfortable and compliment dresses very well. If anything here has inspired you, let’s chat more. Can’t wait to hear from you!
