Tacoma Maternity Photography Session with Family
When I first started as a professional photographer, I never realized how much I would love capturing the magic of maternity session. It's been such a treasure for me to come along side families and document such a miracle. I know, I sound so sappy, but after being pregnant 5 times myself, it really is nothing short of a miracle that a child grows from such a small seed into an adorable newborn baby!
As a Tacoma maternity photographer, I'm always excited to photograph those beautiful moments between a husband and wife before they welcome their first baby. It's a big deal becoming a first time parent! Not only are they about to step into a whole new world of diaper changes and baby bottles, but it's the final weeks of soaking up the bond of just being a couple before becoming a family. That's why a photo session with your partner is so special to capture those quiet moments before baby comes!
Though for those who already have started a family and are on to baby number 2, 3 or 4, these family portraits will be memorable but also so much fun. I'm all about creating a stress-free photo shoot and keeping kids happy and carefree. My philosophy is to avoid forced smiles and focus on interaction and connection! Maternity photography is much more than just taking photos of a pregnant belly (though baby bumps are of course a big focus)! I aim to help tell a family's story through the love shown in the pictures and focusing in on those moments before another baby is added to the family.
This session was the perfect way to have a family session of just the 3 of them before they welcomed another little boy. We met at Point Defiance park in the Rhododendron Garden area. The flowers were just starting to bloom, though the best time to catch the full effect is late April into May. It was still a beautiful day and the way the light shone through the forest was so pretty. There were lots of laughs and games with their 3-year-old son. He was a sweetheart and was excited to become a big brother soon!
If you book a photo shoot with me, I want to help you every step of the way. I always send a welcome guide to help prepare everyone (especially parents with toddlers) for the session. I also love helping with wardrobe styling and offer a client closet for those who don't want to spend extra money on a maternity dress or gown. But if you're wondering what to wear or how to dress the rest of the family, I can help with that too!
